American Express Gold
Overview
With 4x on dining and groceries, the Gold card is first and foremost a points-earner. The $240 in credits mitigate but don’t offset the $250 annual fee. However, if you spend enough on bonus categories, you can pretty quickly pass the break even point, as long as your next best option is a 2-3x earner.
