Chase Freedom Flex
Overview
The Freedom Flex is a valuable fee-free card in any Chase portfolio mainly for its rotating 5x categories as well as its rare 3x in drug stores.
Normally, this card ears cash back, but if you have a Sapphire Preferred or Ink Preferred, you can move your points from the Freedom Flex to that card and then transfer them to any of Chase’s usual transfer partners.
Getting the Card
While the Freedom Flex sometimes has a small signup bonus, you can also get this card by product changing from any other card that earns Chase points. This can usually be done in Chase’s secure messaging center without making a call. Many people will apply for a new Sapphire Preferred or Reserve every two years, for a large signup bonus, and then product change their old Sapphire to a Freedom Flex or Unlimited.
